Hillsong Kids August Update

It is a challenge every week to take the concept we want to teach your children and make it simple enough for them to comprehend... and beyond that, apply it to their lives.

The quote from Einstein is very apt in this situation because I do not in any way think we are ‘dumbing’ down the gospel of Christ but taking it and bringing clarity. Shining a light on the word of God so that each of our children is able to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).

At home with your kids, strive for simplicity as you raise them to follow Christ for the rest of their lives!

Meet A Family

Who is in your family?
Me – Tala & My husband Mos & our 5 Great Gorgeous children, Tyrone, Jordan, Zechariah, Kelly & Michael. 4 Boys & our Girl!

What was it like the first time you came to Hillsong Church?
When we first came to Hillsong Church  in 2001 we only had the 3 boys and I remember we came into the Hub Auditorium, our kids were in the kids programs, and Bobbie was speaking . She said, “You have not come here by accident and that God had this divine appointment for US to be here” I had tears in my eyes and I looked up to my husband and he was teary too (which was a lot for him coz he never cries), that’s when we made Hillsong church our Family.

What is in store for your family this year?
Our Older son Tyrone will be Graduating from year 12 this year and we are excited about that.

What is the best thing about being a part of the GWS Campus?
The best thing about being a part of this service is the community, we love meeting people from all walks of life and cultures, and you know where there is culture there is FOOD…We Love Food!!! But more we Love hearing the message of God taught in a way that My husband & I can relate to and our children can also relate & understand too no matter how old  you are.

Do you have a budding masterchef in your home?

Here is a great recipe you can make together and treat the whole family to something yummy!

Cheesy Bread Quiche
12 thin slices of bread, crusts removed, butter, for spreading
12 slices of ham
4 eggs, lightly whisked
1/2 cup (125ml) milk
1 cup (200g) ricotta cheese
3/4 cup (90g) Cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Spread one side of the bread slices with butter and press into lightly greased muffin tins.
Bake for 5-6 minutes or until just golden. Line each bread case with a slice of ham, place the egg, milk, ricotta and cheddar into a bowl and mix well to combine. Pour the mixture into the bread cases and bake for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through and golden. Makes 12
